Le Club suisse de la Presse – Geneva Press Club, has the pleasure of inviting Swiss and foreign journalists to a press conference on the following theme

“WHAT THE NEW IRAQ MEANS FOR THE KURDS”

The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) Coordinator to the United Nations will act as the focal point between the United Nations and the KRG. The United Nations Mission in Iraq (UNAMI) has welcomed this initiative as progressive and the best way to systemize the new relationship between the UN and Kurdish authorities as well as help coordinate UN programmes implementation in the Kurdish region.The KRG is now working closely with United Nations Agencies and international organizations based in the north to achieve the best for the region.

Following topics will be discussed :

-Cooperation between the United Nations and the KRG.
-The relationship between the KRG and the Iraqi Government.
-Iraqi Constitution : what it means for the Kurds.
-The KRG’s vision of a new Iraq.
-Security and stability in Kurdistan.
-Foreign investment and economic development in Kurdistan.
-The role of Iraqi Kurds in the Government of Iraq.

The press meeting will be followed by a drink.
